Software Sales Representative
Job Description:
Sells electronic data processing systems to business, government or industrial establishments by performing the following duties.
DUTIES :
Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
Develops marketing plan for software sales.
Reports point of sale and sales forecasts.
Travels through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers by phone.
Analyzes customer's needs and recommends software system that best meets customer's requirements.
Emphasizes salable features such as flexibility, cost, capacity, and economy of operation.
Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
Develops processes that enable predictable and repeatable events and activities.
Consults with software technical experts regarding sales questions.
Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
Attends trade shows.
Develops and leads product demonstrations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
-- Must have Background in marketing, promotion and sales of engineering and architectural software
-- Must be willing to travel overnight up to 50% of the time (a car will be provided)
-- Must have at least 5 years prior outside sales experience.
